Terms of Use
By using Tinca, you agree to these terms. They cover what the app does, what it doesn't, and what you're responsible for when operating a robot through it.
Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Tinca ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
Nature of the App
Tinca is a convenience interface for monitoring and controlling robots via standard protocols (Foxglove WebSocket, rosbridge). It is NOT a safety-critical control system. The App provides no guarantees of continuous connectivity, real-time performance, or fail-safe operation.
Robot Safety
You must always have an independent, hardware-based emergency stop mechanism accessible when operating any robot through Tinca. Software-based controls, including the in-app E-Stop button, are a secondary convenience and must never be your sole safety mechanism. You are solely responsible for ensuring safe operation of your robot at all times.
No Warranty
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. Network disconnections, message delays, and protocol errors can occur at any time.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developers of Tinca shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to: property damage, personal injury, data loss, or any harm caused by robot operation through the App.
User Responsibilities
You are responsible for: (1) ensuring your robot and workspace are safe before operating through the App; (2) maintaining a hardware E-Stop independent of the App; (3) ensuring proper network connectivity between your device and robot; (4) complying with all applicable laws and safety regulations for robot operation in your jurisdiction.
Data and Connectivity
Tinca connects directly to your robot over your local network or the network you configure. The App does not route robot data through external servers. Connection quality depends on your network conditions. High-frequency control commands (such as velocity) require stable, low-latency connectivity.
In-App Purchases
Tinca offers a one-time Pro upgrade and optional add-ons. All purchases are processed through the platform store (Google Play or Apple App Store) and are subject to their respective refund policies. Purchases are non-transferable between platforms.
Modifications
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. Material changes will be communicated through the App.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer is based, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
